We are a local club which started in 1974 when a couple of local bowls players approached the parish council for the use of land on the recreation field to create a new full size bowling green. After lengthy discussions between bowling friends, the PC and Suffolk County officials the project was completed and the new club was formed. For more details see the history of the District Bowls Club

We play on the green adjacent to the Community Centre. We have around 20 members and play league matches on Monday and Thursday evenings. Informal games or “roll ups” as they are called are played between members and visitors on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. We compete in two leagues, the Saxmundham league and the the Upper Waveney league and one of our most successful achievements since creating the club is winning the Suffolk Junior Cup in 2005.

We are fortunate to have some county players in our team who are always willing to help both our experienced and novice players alike. New members are always welcome and we invite anyone who would like to join or just want to try their hand at the game to contact us via the secretary, David Cattermole.01379 384779
